For those who were unable to attend the presentation given by Chris Allison and Wayne Poyer at the Reynolds Fire Hall on Saturday 5/20/06, we wanted to provide a little taste of what you missed.
Bill Masters, a Lake Holiday resident, was kind enough to record the entire meeting and provide us with a copy of the audio recording. In the following clip, Bill asks a question about the legal opinion behind Chris Allison’s voting policies for the upcoming election. He makes a specific request for the written legal opinion. Chris Allison promises him he can have the report “right now.” But when Bill visited the Association office a few days later, the promise was broken. He was denied access to the report, as he describes in detail on his website.

If Chris Allison can’t keep a simple promise, how can he be trusted to keep bigger, more important promises? Keep in mind this was a promise made in an open, recorded public meeting about providing access to a report paid for by members. What’s the big secret that Chris Allison is trying to hide? Is it that he doesn’t have a written legal opinion? Or is it that doesn’t say what he has represented to members?
In our own case, we have had to file 3 motions with the court to compel production of documents. If there is nothing to hide, why does Chris Allison obstruct producing documents that members are entitled to? If there is nothing to hide, why does he waste the Association’s money by refusing to provide them? Or is it that there is something to hide? Why did the Treasurer suddenly resign?
Is this behavior condoned by other board members? Why are other directors being so silent at such a critical time? Is it because Chris Allison had them sign a confidentiality agreement to gag them? Is it any wonder there is a widespread and growing view among both homeowners and lot owners that this board needs to go?
When members are denied access to something as simple as a legal opinion paid for with their money, watch out.
For those of you unfamiliar with Bill Masters, he is one of the proprietors of The Summit Advisor, a dissident bulletin board that for the most part is critical of the direction of the Allison administration. (That there are 2 dissident websites operating in a community of about 700 homes ought to be a sign of trouble in the boardroom, but that’s a story for another day.) There’s an excellent post entitled A Development Diary on Bill’s website that draws attention to major issues with the Allison administration. It ends with a sober warning.
Watch out for the Kool-Aid.
