Bill Masters, a longtime Lake Holiday resident, has sent an email to John Martel, LHCC’s Treasurer, and most of the other LHCC directors. His email addresses a topic important to us all: money. He makes a request for additional documents and asks to get answers to certain questions.
LHCC Dues Are Too High By As Much As 46%
LHCC’s dues are too high by as much as 46%, and spending is out of control. Worse still, LHCC’s directors want to make a profit of almost $1 million on the backs of members in 2007.
To fully understand this, we need to look at LHCC’s original budgets for 2006 and 2007 and correct them for several financial management mistakes. Since we’ll be developing our own corrected budgets, we’ll refer to the budgets available on LHCC’s website as of today (and linked above) as the “original” budgets and our own versions as the “corrected” budgets.
Who Shares Chris Allison’s Guilt?
In previous posts, we’ve documented the fact that Chris Allison allowed Miller & Smith and its builders to vote non-member Trust lots in the October 2006 election of directors. Apparently, he made this decision without Board approval because he boasts in an email to a fellow director that this “was and is not a Board issue.”
Rumbling In the Community
There’s an active discussion on the topic we raised about Chris Allison illegitimately allowing Miller & Smith and its builders to vote certain lots taking place on Bill Master’s website.
Fixing An Election, Chris Allison Style
The October 2006 election was a sham.
Comparing the October 2006 election results to the 2 most recent elections in Lake Holiday history arouses suspicions.

Vote for 5 Independent Candidates
The 2006 election has been marked by strong emotions. We think it’s important to stick to the facts and to keep the discourse civil.
There are only 7 announced candidates to fill 5 board seats, and 3 of these 7 are incumbents. Whatever view one holds regarding Lake Holiday politics, hopefully we can all agree that we need to broaden our choices. Our efforts have expanded the pool of candidates by introducing 4 floor-nominated candidates, and we all need to continue this effort. We applaud the willingness of our 5 nominees – and every candidate – to suffer through such a painful political process to get an opportunity to serve the community.
Facts Trounce Hate Speak
Shame on Sue Fuerst. Her childish letter repeatedly refers to my brother Bill as “Sneazy”, a dwarf in a fairy tale. Bill is short and suffers from a rare bone disease. Her outright hate speak is among the most despicable behavior I have ever witnessed. Chris Allison and the LHCC board apparently support mocking the handicapped. Who’s next on their attack list? Recently, the supporters of the Board have stooped to spreading the false rumor that we have “sold out” and abandoned our reform efforts. This is not true. And by now you have the latest lie-filled panic attack from the Chris Allison supporters. Their strategy: If you can’t win based on the facts, attack someone’s handicap and resort to spreading lies.
Embattled LHCC Board Lockes Down The Hatches
Does the embattled LHCC board of directors play fair? Is it dominated by people unduly favorable to Miller & Smith who will bend the rules to protect their entrenched positions? Judge for yourself.

Hogwash, Chris
There’s a lengthy post on LHCC’s website alleging that there is “confusion…generated by a builder” about how to get utility service to a membership lot. We agree that there is a lot of confusion, but the real source of this confusion is Chris Allison. He’s written that the current governing documents prevent the Association from getting utilities to membership lots. We’ve consistently said this is not true. In this post on LHCC’s website, the Chris Allison lie is repeated:
The Association cannot legally use Association Membership funds to extend the utilities.
So let’s see who is telling the truth on this important point.
